Closet Closet !

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Chinese New Year (CNY) is going to be happening in less than a week! Every year, it's a tradition and almost a habit for every Chinese family to carry out a mass clean up of their households before starting the CNY ! (CNY starts in Feb almost every year, sometimes in Jan)Yes, for me, it's actually means something more than just following the tradition. It creates a nice mood for me when choas doesn't exist. Sartorial wise, organization of my closet is key when it comes to making it functional.

Keeping everything organized can add efficiency to your dressing time, allowing you to see what you have in one view. You don't want to forget all your "love-at-first-sight" purchases just because they are hiding somewhere. Knowing what you already have can help you to style the same items with freshness, giving you new ideas how to rework the same pieces without boring yourself/ your friends, as well as controlling your impulsive shopping. One thing I hate the most is,when I have wasted tonnes of time searching for a lost piece. It just ruined my mood, so did my day.

My closet organization keys:
1) Color coordinate (for tops and bottoms, hang pieces with similar color together)
2) Knit type deserves its own space (knit items are delicate, cant be hanged, should be lined flat. They are vulnerable when store with small hooks)
3) Handy accessories storage (accessories sometimes might create more traffic than clothes while playing mixing and matching, so it should be stored nearby the clothes)
4) Donate things that you don't wear anymore in a year (Don't believe that "come-back-to-style" thought, give love to people who cant afford clothes)
5) Not all closets are dreamy like the celeb's, when space is limited, create your own solution that can lessen any dressing hustle, at the end of the day, make it a fun!
