A/W 2011 Trends we should keep our eyes on

We know it’s only August, but aren’t everyone of you already thinking about those winter clothes/new trends that you can’t wait to put on? The weather’s been too hot and humid lately (well…it’s august!) that I wish we can just skip the heat wave and walk into that beautiful Autumn/Winter season breathing some wintery air. (Yes, I am a winter person!!) So, what’s in store for the season ? Here are the trends :

1) Mod: This Autumn and Winter are all about the 60s’ Mod silhouette. Shift dresses /coats in bright hues of yellow, orange, red etc. dominate the runways of A/W 2011. They are easy to pull off for anyone, any body shape, because the hems are short and they don’t run tight. (Looks from Costume National, Burberry Prorsum)

2) Graphic Art : Who doesn’t want to add a bit of fun to our generally depressing winter closets? Fashion and fine arts are still sharing that interesting relationship, creating delightful patterns that can also make us stand out . (Looks from Prada and Marni)

3) Dotty/Spotty: Those polka dots patterns are back! We’ve seen them before and now it’s that time again to dig into our closets for the old polka dots pieces we put away for quite some time. Good Luck finding yours! (Looks from Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney)

4) Psychedelic Fur- The show-stopping trend apparently is not for everyone, and for everywhere. (If only our winter has dropped to 0 degree Celsius in Hong Kong ...) This trend is dramatic and we definitely won’t mind seeing a nice lux fur piece on the street of Hong Kong even though sometimes it’s still boiling under the cooler air. (Look from Burberry Prorsum)

5)Parka – Of course everyone loves a functional and practical coat! We have to admit parka is a must-buy for the winter season, keep you warm and edgy from day to night. (Look from Rag & Bone)

6)Bold Color- It’s the retro trend that brings back all the bold colors. If there’s a color that stood out above all the rest, it is red. Shades of scarlet, cardinal and vermilion are everywhere. Wear this hottest color with black. (Look from Alberta Ferretti and The Row)

7)Tux Love – This trend instantly adds a sense of authority/ strengths to your look. Aren’t we all want to be powerful? (look from Isabel Marant)
